Internet Marketing Search Engine Optimization SEM SEO service ...

Don?t be daunted by the apparent complexity of creating an affiliate network. It can be easier than it seems. You can set up affiliate marketing programs easily, with the aid of web referrals. The purpose of this article is to give you crucial advice for starting out at affiliate marketing.

Keep an eye on your affiliate statistics and look at each link to see where it performs well. Test your link on different parts of the page and compare the results. Rearrange the page so that the only thing changed is the placement of the link within the content.

To maximize the potentials in your affiliate program, select a business that has a good ratio in sales conversion. You are looking for a 1% conversion rate or more.

Even though affiliate marketing can be an excellent method of making some extra cash, you must have some basic knowledge before you can truly make great money. You need to get your website or blog as high a ranking as possible in each search engine. Your efforts will be rewarded with more clicks on your affiliate links and higher profits.

It is important to maintain open lines of communication with your affiliate partners, and contact them frequently. Communication is the key to building strong relationships. Open communication channels are good for business. The affiliates who bring you the most business are your most prized partners, and you should do whatever it takes to nurture and strengthen your partnership with them.

Keep yourself informed about what is going on in your particular industry. If you look like you are not on top off all the new info, then you will lose customers to your competitors.

Take a step away from the typical pop-up ad to a pop-under. Some browsers block pop-ups but not pop-under ads. Pop-under ads have been shown to get a more positive response from potential customers than pop-ups.

You should do some research on any company before becoming involved with them. This includes top industry earners. You must be sure that your product will be an easy sell.

Hire an accountant to do your finances. This does not have to actually be a person, as many accountant programs do exist. This way you can pay yourself for the hours of work you perform. Do this before you start working, so the support is there when you need it.

It is important to your success as an online affiliate, to be honest with your consumer base. You must tell the truth to build a customer base. Readers will not buy from you if you seem fake or unauthorized. Do not risk losing customers for the sake of talking yourself up.

Creating an affiliate website can help boost sales. Doing a good job promoting the affiliates you already have can lead to new affiliates being interested in your site. With the right search engine optimization tactics, you might even attract potential affiliates who may not have found your site otherwise.

Make sure that you check the terms before signing a contract with your chosen affiliate, and make sure you receive a commission for every sale. How will orders placed over the telephone, by post, or by fax be tracked? This way you will be able to receive all the income that you generate for your affiliates.

Disclose that you are doing affiliate marketing to your readers and see how they react to it. Honesty builds trust with your readers and can help bolster your affiliate marketing efforts. Providing an explanation for the marketing you use will make your users more likely to check out the links you offer.

Once you start making good money, you may want to ask for higher pay from your program. If your affiliates see that you are earning them money and using effective marketing techniques, they will want to keep your business, even if it means raising your commissions.

One way to boost your affiliate marketing commission is through contests. This can generate a lot of extra page views and free publicity as people come to your site for the promotion.

Affiliate programs are a great way to promote your business. Generally, more traffic is generated by affiliate programs than many other advertising methods. When evaluating an affiliate program, check to see how much money you get per referral, as well as the reputation and design of the vendor?s site.

Any affiliate marketers that reside in the state of California who had a termination of their account in 2011 are now able to re-install any lost links on their sites. The law that gave Amazon a reason to stop doing business with California affiliates no longer exists, and Californians are free to participate again. It is a good idea to see if you were affected by this law.

Affiliate marketing programs that are pay-per-sale can be quite risky. If it works it can mean a lot of extra income for you! Put some time aside to see if it is a good match before making your decision.

One way to encourage clicks on your banner ads is to ask a trivia question. The reader will have to click your banner to find out the answer. Most people will be intrigued enough to click the banner. You can also give those who answer the question correctly a discount, which is icing on the cake.

If you want to be successful at affiliate marketing, know your audience. It is imperative that you target your readers? needs. Why are they reading your website? What specific things are they looking for online?

You are going to want to make sure that you choose an affiliate that provides a diverse amount of payment options. Pay attention to how the parent company distributes earnings. Some only issue paper checks while others use bank transfers and online sources such as PayPal. Also make sure you know how often the distribute earnings.

So clearly it is no longer as expensive or as complicated to be involved in affiliate marketing programs as it has been in the past. By using the tips offered in this article, you?ll be able to create a successful affiliate marketing program and keep your costs down.

iPhone 5 Untethered Jailbreak Hopefully Released December 22nd

It?d be like all our Christmases come early.

At least, those of us who routinely jailbreak their phones for nefarious and not-so-nefarious purposes.

Over the last few weeks, we?ve been reporting on alleged progress of the iPhone 5 untethered jailbreak. The short answer for all of that is: they?re still working on it. Sadly, that?s also the case today. It looks like the Chronic Dev Team is still hard at work chipping away at the defenses that Apple has erected for the iOS 6, something that many has come to regard as a major inconvenience. Still, there?s hope. There?s always hope but this is a more concrete form of hope. According to Auto-o-mobile, a team of jailbreakers going by the name of Dream JB has announced the seemingly impossible: a release date for the jailbreak. December 22nd.

The team is, in no way, affiliated to the Chronic Dev Team. They do, however, have a website where they will be delivering details about the jailbreak on. Needless to say, there?s been a fair amount of disbelief expressed in the community. How could anyone who is not the Chronic Dev Team come up with a jailbreak? A member of the team had apparently spoken out in regards to this disappointment about this. To quote Auto-o-Mobile,?the unnamed chap ?it is ridiculous for them to say that jailbreaking is impossible outside of the Dev Team and went on say that the untethered jailbreak would be out on 22nd?December 2012.?

I don?t know about you but I don?t care who comes up with that jailbreak so long as the solution is made available.

Trace Lettering on Cakes with a Toothpick Before Writing with Icing

Trace Lettering on Cakes with a Toothpick Before Writing with IcingTrace Lettering on Cakes with a Toothpick Before Writing with Icing Writing on cakes, even simple messages like Happy Birthday, can be daunting for some considering the time and effort that went into baking and icing the cake to get it ready for edible lettering. Real Simple magazine's weblog recommends first writing text on your cakes with a toothpick and going back over that with a pastry bag.

The beauty of using a toothpick is that if you make a colossal error you can smooth over the icing and try again until you get it right. You may also want to practice writing with a pastry bag on a plate to familiarize yourself with how the frosting flows from the tip.

Apple, Samsung spar in court, ruling to come

SAN JOSE, California (Reuters) - Apple Inc and Samsung Electronics squared off again in court on Thursday, as the iPhone maker tried to convince a U.S. district judge to ban sales of a number of the South Korean company's devices and defended its $1.05 billion jury award.

Apple scored a sweeping legal victory in August at the conclusion of its landmark case against its arch-foe, when a U.S. jury found Samsung had copied critical features of the iPhone and iPad and awarded it damages.

Both sides re-convened on Thursday. U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh listened to a range of arguments on topics from setting aside the jury's findings on liability to alleged juror misconduct and the requested injunction.

The hearing concluded with Koh promising to rule at a later date.

Twenty-four of Samsung's smartphones were found to have infringed on Apple's patents, while two of Samsung's tablets were cleared of similar allegations.

Koh began by questioning the basis for some of the damages awarded by the jury, putting Apple's lawyers on the defensive.

"I don't see how you can evaluate the aggregate verdict without looking at the pieces," Koh said.

Samsung's lawyers argued the ruling against it should be "reverse engineered" to be sure the $1.05 billion was legally arrived at by the jury and said that on that basis, the amount should be slashed. Apple countered that the ruling was reasonable.

"Assuming I disagree with you, what do I do about Captivate, Continuum, Droid Charge, Epic 4G, and Gem?" Koh asked Apple's lawyers, referring to the jury's calculation of damages regarding some of Samsung's devices.

FIERCEST RIVAL

Samsung is Apple's fiercest global business rival and their battle for consumers' allegiance is helping shape the landscape of the booming smartphone and tablet industry -- a fight that has claimed several high-profile victims, including Nokia.

While the trial was deemed a resounding victory for Apple, the company has since seen its market value shrink as uncertainty grows about its ability to continue fending off an assault by Samsung and other Google Inc Android gadgets on its home turf.

Apple's stock has nosedived 18 percent since the August 24 verdict, while Samsung's has gained around 16 percent.

Most of the devices facing injunction are older and, in some cases, out of the market.

Such injunctions have been key for companies trying to increase their leverage in courtroom patent fights.

In October, a U.S. appeals court overturned a pretrial sales ban against Samsung's Galaxy Nexus smartphone, dealing a setback to Apple's battle against Google Inc's increasingly popular mobile software.

Some analysts say Apple's willingness to license patents to Taiwan's HTC could convince Koh it does not need the injunction, as the two companies could arrive at a licensing deal.

Apple is also attempting to add more than $500 million to the $1 billion judgment because the jury found Samsung willfully infringed on its patents. A Samsung lawyer argued against willful damages and said the base amount for calculating any potential willful damages should be just $10 million.

Samsung wants the verdict overturned, saying the jury foreman did not disclose that he was once in litigation with Seagate Technology, a company that Samsung has invested in.

"He should have been excused for cause," said Samsung lawyer Charles Verhoeven. "Such a juror was a juror in name only."

The juror misconduct charge is "unlikely to have much traction," said Christopher Carani, a partner at Chicago-based intellectual property law firm McAndrews, Held & Malloy, Ltd.

Both Apple and Samsung have filed separate lawsuits covering newer products, including the Samsung Galaxy Note II. That case is pending in U.S. District Court in San Jose and is set for trial in 2014.

Ultimate Fleecing

President of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) Dana White. Dana White, president of the UFC.

If you have a television, and that television receives one of the many stations owned by Fox, you?ve probably seen the ads. On Saturday! There will be fights! Benson Henderson! Will be defending his lightweight title! Against Nate Diaz! B.J. Penn! Will be fighting! Rory MacDonald! There are clips of men punching other men, and torquing their limbs as grandiose music plays. The Ultimate Fighting Championship is on Fox!

If you?re like the vast majority of television owners, none of this means anything to you. Building a sport is not quick work, and so the fact that the UFC?not long ago a barely legal fringe concern?hardly registers with the general public is unsurprising. What is surprising is that, just more than a year after the UFC signed a major rights deal with Fox, its business appears to be in a dangerous downturn. The UFC, it seems, was quite literally not ready for prime time.

?That?s all bullshit,? says UFC president Dana White of any suggestion that his company looks a bit like a deer pinned under a lion. ?That?s all bullshit. There?s a bunch of shit out there on the Internet, when you listen to all the crock of shit out there with people who have no fucking clue what they?re talking about.?

The facts, though, read like this. UFC?s Fox debut last November averaged an impressive 5.7 million viewers. Its last two offerings, by contrast, both drew an average viewership of about 2.4 million. The current season of The Ultimate Fighter reality show has averaged 835,000 viewers for FX on Friday nights, a huge decline from past seasons. And sales of the UFC?s pay-per-view cards are all but guaranteed to decline for a second straight year, from an estimated 9.27 million PPV buys of 16 events in 2010, to 6.49 million buys of 16 events in 2011, to 5.28 million buys of 12 events in 2012 with one card yet to air.

There are a variety of explanations for all of this. Eric Shanks, the president of Fox Sports, cites communication issues between Fox, FX, and Fuel, the three main stations running UFC content, the difficulty of finding a proper format in which to present an event-driven sport, and ?confusion in the marketplace? caused by Spike, former home of the UFC, continuing to run old fights on what seems like a constant loop. Dana White points to an unprecedented string of injuries to top fighters this year??Eight out of 12 main events fell out. That?s 67 per cent! That?s crazy! That?s unheard of!??as well as top heavyweight draw Brock Lesnar?s departure for pro wrestling.

Still, the simplest and most logical explanation for the decline is this: The UFC has been running lousy shows. Until fairly recently, White could rightly claim that his fight cards were a better deal than those put on by boxing promoters. At that point, he was taking advantage of UFC?s virtual monopoly on top mixed martial artists, staging main events that fans clamored to see and undercards with another two, three, or four interesting bouts. Lately, though, top stars like Jon Jones and Anderson Silva have been fighting walking speedbags like Vitor Belfort and Stephan Bonnar, while spent fighters who should have retired years ago, such as Tito Ortiz and Ant?nio Rodrigo Nogueira, have topped the preliminary cards.

?My wallet is still yelling at me for spending 50 bucks,? groused one writer about a lame June card. A month later, another event inspired this lede: ?Dana White was ?embarrassed? by UFC 149, while most fight fans were simply bored by it.? A month after that, UFC actually canceled UFC 151 for want of a main event, leaving open the question of whether a dull night of fights is better than none at all.

Why has UFC been running lousy shows? Some of it is down to luck, and some is down to the nature of a sport where even tightly controlled training involves serious violence. A lot of it, though, is a consequence of how badly UFC got played by Fox.

When White and company proudly unveiled the Fox agreement in August 2011, it seemed like the greatest thing ever to happen to the UFC and, by extension, mixed martial arts. Not only was a major broadcaster promoting a sport that still isn?t even legal in New York, but the deal?s estimated annual value of $90 million to $100 million represented a significant upgrade over the UFC?s prior broadcast deal with Spike, which topped out at a reported $35 million per year. In all, it gave the UFC a new legitimacy and, crucially, a stable flow of cash to buffer it against the inherent ups and downs of the pay-per-view market. (When PPV buys make up something like three-quarters of your net yearly revenues, you don?t need Wu-Tang Financial to tell you it?s time to diversify.)

But even as it gave the UFC some steady income, Fox extracted commitments that have all but crippled its new partner. Those commitments came in the form of massive amounts of content, something Fox is ravenous for in light of its aggressive expansion efforts. In 2010, the UFC ran a total of 24 cards, including those on PPV. By the end of this year, the UFC will have put on 31 shows, more than half of them staged for Fox, FX, or Fuel, a number that should rise yet again when the Fox Sports 1 channel launches some time in 2013. None of this even takes into account episodes of The Ultimate Fighter, or the way Fuel is all but branded as the UFC Network, with an endless array of programs like UFC Insider and UFC Tonight in addition to reruns of old fights, soft-focus specials promoting upcoming cards, and such.

From Shanks? perspective, there?s no problem here. ?The bulk of UFC is on Fuel,? he says, ?and I think that?s been a smashing success. It?s the fastest growing network in all of television.? Leveraging the UFC to increase carriage rates for that network, and to increase FX?s reach into desirable demographics, are clear wins for Fox. It?s just not clear that they?ve been wins for the UFC.

Take the idea of moving The Ultimate Fighter, the reality show that built many of the promotion?s most marketable stars, to Friday nights. ?The Ultimate Fighter hit a fucking home run for FX,? says White. ?It just wasn?t hitting a home run for us. We wanted to pull bigger numbers. But as far as FX, their viewership 18 to 34 is up 59 percent, 18 to 49 is up 75 percent on Friday nights. Fucking home run for them.?

Moving the show to Tuesdays, which will happen soon, won?t do much to solve the UFC?s supply-and-demand problem: There just aren?t enough marketable fighters to stock all the cards the UFC has lined up. Over the last two years, UFC has addressed the problem by introducing 145-, 135- and 125-pound divisions, and starting next year it will promote a women?s division as well. This will lead eventually to a near-doubling of the UFC?s effective roster size?at the peak of its popularity, the company was promoting just five divisions?that carries few obvious benefits, given the public?s lamentable lack of interest in smaller fighters. Increasing the number of cards by nearly one-third in two years, and staging more bouts featuring either lower-quality or less-appealing fighters, makes for an inferior product, and thus leads to people tuning out in droves.

(AP) ? Many fans are eagerly anticipating a return to the fictional world of Middle-earth with next week's general release of the first movie in "The Hobbit" trilogy. Director Peter Jackson and the film's stars speak to The Associated Press about making "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey":

? Jackson on shooting at 48 frames per second instead of the standard 24: "We've seen the arrival of iPhones and iPads and now there's a generation of kids ? the worry that I have is that they seem to think it's OK to wait for the film to come out on DVD or be available for download. And I don't want kids to see 'The Hobbit' on their iPads, really. Not for the first time. So as a filmmaker, I feel the responsibility to say, 'This is the technology we have now, and it's different ... How can we raise the bar? Why do we have to stick with 24 frames? ...'"

"The world has to move on and change. And I want to get people back into the cinema. I want to play my little tiny role in encouraging that beautiful, magical, mysterious experience of going into a dark room full of strangers, and being transported into a piece of escapism."

? Martin Freeman (Bilbo Baggins) on shooting some scenes without other actors around: "I must admit I found the green screen and all that easier than I thought I would. ... I found the technical aspect of it quite doable. Some of it's difficult, but it's quite enjoyable, actually. It taps into when I used to play 'war' as a 6-year-old. And the Germans were all imaginary. Because I was playing a British person. So yeah, I was on the right side. ..."

On marrying his performance to that of Ian Holm, who played an older Bilbo Baggins in the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy: "I knew I couldn't be a slave to it. Because as truly fantastic as Ian Holm is in everything, and certainly as Bilbo, I can't just go and do an impression of Ian Holm for a year and a half. Because it's my turn. But it was very useful for me to watch and listen to stuff he did, vocal ticks or physical ticks, that I can use but not feel hamstrung by."

? Hugo Weaving (Elrond) on the differences in tone to the "Rings" trilogy: "This one feels lighter, more buoyant, but it's got quite profoundly moving sequences in it, too ... I think it's very different in many ways, and yet it's absolutely the same filmmaker, and you are inhabiting the same world."

? Elijah Wood (Frodo) on returning to Middle-earth in a cameo role: "It was a gift to come back ... what they'd constructed was such a beautiful remembrance of the characters from the original trilogy."

? Cate Blanchett (Galadriel) on the toughest part of filming: "Trying to keep my children off the set."

? Richard Armitage (Thorin Oakenshield) on being a 6-foot-2 guy playing a dwarf: "It's amazing how quickly you get used to it. And also, we spent most of the shoot much bigger than a 6-foot-2 guy. I mean, I had lifts in my shoes, I was wider, I was taller, and bigger-haired. And I actually think that was quite an interesting place to be, because I do think dwarfs have big ideas about themselves ..."

? Andy Serkis (Gollum) on taking on the additional role of second-unit director: "There were only a couple of times where there were really, really black days where I went away thinking, 'This is it. I can't do it.' But on the whole, Pete (Jackson) was so brilliant at allowing me to set stuff up and then critiquing my work ... but at least I would have my stab at it."

On the film itself: "I think it's a great story. I think it's a beautifully crafted film with great heart. A rollicking adventure, and it feels to me like this really massive feast that everyone will enjoy eating."
